Located at Kilometre 1,934 (historical mile 1202) of the Alaska Highway, near the Alaska-Yukon border, it is Canada's westernmost community. The community's main employers are a Canada Customs post, the White River First Nation and a number of tourist lodges.

Beaver Creek has a population of approximately 100 individuals and is the home of the White River First Nation, an Upper Tanana speaking people. In addition to the Alaska Highway, the community is served by the Beaver Creek Airport.
